Overview

Former home of the wealthiest African-American woman of the late 19th century, Amanda Dickson, daughter of a white planter and his slave, Ms. Dickson fought for her inheritance all the way through the Georgia Supreme Court and won. She bought this home after the trial in 1886 and lived there until her death in 1893. Now an attorney's office, the house is not open for tours.
