Historic Trolley Tours of Downtown Augusta
Guests will see historic homes, hear about the bones in the basement of the Old Medical College, see where a president lived as a boy and more. Tours will take place on Wednesday, April 10 from 2 - 3:15 p.m.; Thursday, April 11 from 11 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.; and Saturday, April 13, from 2 - 3:15 p.m. The trolley tours depart from the Augusta Visitor Center, located at 560 Reynolds Street in downtown Augusta, inside the Augusta Museum of History. Tickets are $12. Reservations are required and include admission to the Augusta Museum of History. To make reservations, call the Augusta Visitor Center at 706-724-4067.
First Lady Ellen Axson Wilson and Her Circle Exhibition
March 9–May 5, 2013
President Woodrow Wilson spent his life in Augusta as a boy, his wife, First Lady Ellen Axson Wilson, is honored in this exhibition. This exhibition brings together eighteen of Ellen Axson Wilson’s paintings with work by such colleagues, friends, and teachers as George de Forest Brush, Chauncey Ryder, Childe Hassam, Walter Griffin, and Bessie Potter Vonnoh. More than 25 works of art, including paintings, drawings and photographs celebrate the history, beauty and culture of golf; $5 admission
