83-year-old Ralph Stanley, the patriarch of traditional bluegrass music, has been performing professionally for more than sixty years and remains one of the best banjo pickers and tenor singers in bluegrass music. As a recording artist, he has performed on more than 170 albums and has inspired countless musicians from every genre, including Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Dwight Yoakam, Vince Gill, Jerry Garcia, Hal Ketchum, Patty Loveless, John Anderson, and many, many more.
