Violist Miles Hoffman founded The American Chamber Players in 1985 from a core group of artists of The Library of Congress Summer Chamber Festival.  The ensemble performs repertoire ranging from familiar masterpieces to neglected gems to newly commissioned American works, and its fascinating and delightful programs with varied instrumental combinations have been as enthusiastically praised as its extraordinary, dynamic performances.  Mr. Hoffman may be familiar to the Augusta audiences as a frequent commentator on National Public Radio, but also because this will be the third time he has brought the American Chamber Players to the Harry Jacobs Chamber Music Series.
