Description:
The fifth annual Westobou Festival promises to transform well-known landmarks with art installations; unleash the soul sounds of the past, through music, and present and future and introduce one of the world’s most anticipated new dance companies—all of this wrapped up with a taste of poetic narrative and fine wine.
Lonnie Holley is known around the world for his sculptures and installations which the self-taught artist began creating around his Birmingham, Ala., home 30 years ago. For Westobou he has created a site-specific, found object art installation that pays tribute to The Godfather of Soul James Brown at Paine College.
