Description:

Prior registration is needed for this event...Day of registration is at 8 a.m. on April 28th.
The Kayak portion will begin at 10am. The launch will  take place at Betty's Branch at Riverside Landing. The course is approximately 6 miles long and will take a leisurely 3 hours to complete (This is a NON-competitive event).  Along the route there will be checkpoints with LIVE local bluegrass musicians and samples of local food and beverage items. 

Upon completion of the paddle for those that want to participate, there will be demonstrations on kayak fishing, kayak demos from local kayak shops, Stand Up Paddle board demonstrations (SUPS) and others yet to be announced. 

The Local Fest will have live Local Bluegrass - (Eryn Eubanks & The Family Fold), booths with local artisans, local small businesses, local churches, and of course local food!  It wouldn’t be the south without the food!  Chef Edward Mendoza of Kitchen 1454 will be on site preparing a "coffee rubbed pig' with local veggie sides for the Ole fashioned pig pickn’, sweet tea and other southern favorites that are unique to us here in the South! 
The Local Fest will also have a area for the Lil' Dinkers, the children's activity center will have  arts and craft activities as well as demonstrations about local agriculture and wildlife.
