6th Annual Spring Artists' Market and Festival

Now in its sixth year, the Spring Artists’ Market and Festival will return offering a full week of activities for art lovers and art makers of all ages and interests! An exhibition and sale of works featuring GHIA’s talented member artists will be kicked off with an opening Wine and Cheese Reception on Friday, March 9 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. The reception will honor the 2012 exhibiting artists, and guests will receive a 10% discount on all purchases made that evening. Works in the Artists’ Market exhibition will remain on view and available for purchase Monday–Friday, March 12–16.

Approximately thirty emerging and established Augusta-area artists will display and sell their work in the Main Gallery of the Institute. Works represented will include sculpture, photography, ceramics, paintings, drawings, and prints, with options to suit all tastes and budgets. A returning component of this year’s Market is the Artists’ Boutique, a gallery section featuring smaller works attractively priced at $100 or less—the perfect place to find an artful and affordable treasure.

On Saturday, March 10, 2012, a family-friendly Festival will be held, offering fun for children and parents alike. From face painting and hands-on art activities for children to artist demonstrations and gallery browsing for grown-ups, a variety of fun and educational activities will be offered for every member of the family. The Festival will be held at the Institute’s headquarters from 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

All events during the Spring Artists’ Market and Festival are free of charge.
